upon reaching school, we started rehearsals for today at 7.30am that we missed flag raising. for the first time, our yin was super zhun, jusong and winds sounded great. a good start for the good day.

practising till 8.25am, we stopped to rest and get into the mood, while being briefed about today's schedule. everything would be fast and chaotic, and we would only be on stage for a mere 15mins.

everyone started distributing sweets and goodies for encouragement. haha. omg.. joey's 'personalised' letter to everyone... lol. everyone read each other's already. haha.

8.40++, we packed and got ready to leave for SCH. thats when it reality started setting in. this was it. we were going off to show DHSCO off to Singapore.

the atmosphere on the bus was light.. peijean was beside me reading out all the little messages that XYZ seniors wrote to them. so sweet. haha. i was quite touched lah, by what they said.

upon reaching SCH, we started to feel the heat, the excitement, the anxiety. we tuned our cellos, and tl helped me jam the pegs into the hole, praying it would not come loose when on stage. or i tell you i cry ar! strings out of tune, its as if you didnt perform at all for syf lah. ok, you wouldnt have. lol. then we went into another tuning room to practise. we only had 15mins in there, and we could sense that the teachers were feeling the heat too, behaving really frantic and all. ttk kept repeating to wu lao shi: "不能再拖了！" then when our 15 mins was up, mdm ilyana rushed us out, saying what every minute costs us one mark.

going up to the lobby, scary. there was this small tv set mounted on a pillar, with sound systems and all. it was showing the inside of the concert hall. anglican high was performing. stress! but nvm, i'm not gonna comment. lol. then all the seniors came back to support us also, so touched!! haha.

1040am, seniors had to leave to go into he concert hall to watch us play.. we were on our own!! ahhh!!

few minutes later, close to 11am, the doors opened. it was time. we walked in confidently, although there was like a super big gap in between me and cally, so i almost had to run, but i didnt :). haha. walked up the stage, moved the chairs, put anchors and sat down to tiao yin. thank heavens, the strings were still in tune and didnt go off!!! whooo!! i love amelia's cello! haha.

conductor came on stage, we stood up, sat down, got ready. this is it, this is it, i kept telling myself. after all these practising, we're finally HERE, on stage, for SYF. its OUR turn to make the miracle.

the first note started. then onto the solo, whoa.. not bad, very zhun. haha. then.. ta-dum. our most important part. i was thinking then "oh please please please let it be all right!" cos if we flopped, goodbye goldwithhonours. then.. la fa la mi re do ti.. WHOOO!! not bad! good, that boosted my confidence quite alot. haha. after that, everything for jian kuai went well, except maybe some parts our yinzhun abit off lor. haha.

then the song ended. phew, i thought, one song down, one more to go.

conductor lifted his hand, as it slowly went down, i was praying that the basses come in together. first note.. yay!! not bad! or at least, better than most of the practises lah. haha. then when XYZ came in.. whoa.. goosebumps. super nice. hahaha. then our turn.. not much lah. just that because of XYZ, then i think everyone had lots of gan qing lor. haha. then when DJY came in.. WHOA. so loud! super nice. haha. it was then i decided, this was gonna be good. haha. but then.. hai.. our yinzhun, the mi super off. but nvm! i told myself. lol. cannot let this carry forward, must forget it and continue playing.

daniel's solo.. very nice. haha.

gu zheng solo.. it was ok lah, at least considering she was sec 2, SOLOING, as in super solo, it can be very scary. so.. turn out quite good. haha.

then until the climax.. djy super loud again.. very nice. haha. then ending note was also very loud, very nice. haha.

after just 10+mins, we were off stage already. thats it. after so much practise, it was only for that short moment, and we displayed it there and then.

on the bus back, we were quite confident of ourselves lah.. but also, abit unsure cos when we asked the seniors how it was, they were'nt like.. overly excited or happy, like when the first time our yin was SUPER zhun. haha. they just said like.. not bad, quite good.. but not crazy about it. haha. and khojj's jaws weren't dropping so low, like when it did when he heard our yin super zhun that time. haha.

so.. thats it. back in the CO room, mdm ilyana just talked for a while, i missed some of lol, cos went to change in toilet. we have leave from CO for 1 whole month! oh man.. what am i gonna do on fridays?!

so from 12-5pm, we waited. we slacked in co room, playing all the other instruments we could find in there, and waited.

at 5+ most of them went to play bball and vball. I COULDNT PLAY!! cos stupid me forgot to bring extra shirt! i brought my skirt and shoes to change into, but NOT MY SHIRT! nvm.. i like my 长袖白衣 anyway.

530, afraid the results would be out soon, we went back to the co room to wait. there, keewei and khojj were busy planning for their BIG TRICK to bluff us about the result. omg.. haha. anyway, we were all seated around keewei, who was seating on the conductor's seat. he kept bluffing us lah, what with all the fake calls.

then when the REAL call came.. silence.. keewei was talking over the phone and he looked like he was gonna cry lah. that made us like super scared. then soon, yann chyng and mdm ilyana got a call each also. mdm ilyana recited what was going on there concurrently..

THEN... they started announcing.

school number one.. bronze/silver/etc.
school number 2...

4...
anglican high.. gold..

tension plunged high up in the co room.

then as we were anxiously awaiting mdm ilyana to annouce our sch's results.. SHE TURNED AROUND AND STOPPED TELLING US!!!! anti...

so we turned our attention to keewei..
keewei over the phone: " i dont care about other school's results, i only want to know ours."

keewei: "AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
CO room: " AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!"

we did it.
gold with honours.

all the disappointing things after that.. nvm. i dont want to say here. i just wanted this to go down on black and white, so i can be reminded of these fond memories again next time when i read back, to relive the times again.
